One year ago today was the first time we ever saw our sweet Kanah's face. I remember waking up that morning and we knew that it would be the day, we just were not sure when. We knew it would be sometime later in the day as our agency was in Colorado. So the butterflies were in my stomach as soon as I woke up. I remember we were trying to go about our morning and get as much work done as possible...haha...I just buzzed around all morning. I know I must have called Mike about 100 times.
I was in my office and Mike was in his working and the phone rang...I just started yelling it's them ...it's them. Jennifer... Mike you have a beautiful baby girl...........do you want to see her face? YES.......We both ran upstairs to his computer and then she said ok I have sent the email,we opened it up and there she was...our daughter....for the first time it was real.....and then we both just cried.
I read this on someone else's blog and I think it is really perfect.

I remember looking into those big brown eyes and wondering who are you? what are you like? I Remember thinking that but I cannot remember the feeling of not knowing....because now I know how absolutely wonderful Kanah is.
I also remember saying I cannot wait to kiss those ears and kiss that big bottom lip and oh boy how many times have I done that.
Mike and I were talking tonight and it is so hard to believe that one year ago Kanah did not even live with us she was half way across the world. Now she is home and she has lived with us longer than she has lived with anyone else. We are her family! We are her parents!
We are going to take Kanah's picture every year on this day holding her referal photo. WOW how much she has grown and changed....My beautiful girl I am in awe of your beauty and your sweet, sweet loving spirit. I am so blessed to have you in my life.
Of course I could not pick just one picture....

WOW!!! My daughter can always bring the tears with her sweet compassionate heart!! Beautiful loving words from "Mama" to her sweet Kanah! How lucky can one little girl be. What else can be said.

Kanah has changed so much since that picture. She is a beautiful little girl and she is so blessed that ya'll are her parents and you and Mike are blessed also that she is your little girl. She also is blessed with wonderful grandparents. Can it be a year already? Time flies when you are in love. We love you all!

What a happy, happy anniversary for this family!!! We fell head over heels in love with you last year when we first saw your little face, and through this year we have come to love you even more!! You and your cousins are the ultimate light of mine and GranKanie's life.
